At Service Design in Government 2025 in Edinburgh, Gerry Scullion co-led a case study with Marc Stickdorn and Eoin Swift on designing a service architecture for Dublin City Council — bringing clarity, coherence and structure to over 600 services for 1.4 million people.
The context Service Design in Government is the leading UK conference for people designing and delivering public services. In September 2025 it returned to Edinburgh with a programme focused on service design leadership, practical case studies and the realities of transforming large public sector organisations. Dublin City Council is Ireland's largest local authority, providing more than 600 services to over 1.4 million people across the Greater Dublin Area. Like many large councils, it faced fragmented service delivery, internal silos and growing demand for citizen centred design. The Council had begun working with Humana Design to bring clarity, coherence and structure to how services are designed, documented and improved. What we did Gerry Scullion co led a 90 minute case study session with Marc Stickdorn (Stickdorn Service Design GmbH) and Eoin Swift (Dublin City Council) under the theme of Service Design Leadership.
