The context Medtronic's 5th Annual Human Centered Design Meetup brought together designers, researchers and practitioners from across the organisation to share ideas, build capability and explore the future of human centred design in healthcare technology. For the 2024 event, Medtronic invited Gerry Scullion to deliver a keynote on Evolving Practice — a look at where human centred design is heading and how emergent practices can shape the work teams do today. What we did Gerry worked closely with the Medtronic team to craft a keynote that responded to the themes and questions they wanted their audience to engage with. Rather than a generic talk, the presentation was built around the intersection of Gerry's experience in service design and design research with the practical realities of designing in a complex, regulated healthcare environment.
