An eight-month service design and research engagement that evaluated Dublin City Council services to identify where Irish language support could have the greatest impact, and built a prioritisation model for a €4 million Innovation Fund.
The context Gaeilge365 is an initiative working to create the conditions for the Irish language to flourish across Dublin. With Dublin City Council as a key partner, the programme wanted to understand where council services could best support this ambition — and how to invest a €4 million Innovation Fund for maximum impact. This was an eight month project , finishing in May 2026, that combined deep research with practical decision making. The challenge was breadth: Dublin City Council oversees a huge range of services, from housing and waste to planning, transport, culture and community support. The team needed a clear, evidence based way to identify which services mattered most for Irish language users, where the biggest opportunities lay, and how to allocate limited funding effectively. What we did We worked with Gaeilge365 and Dublin City Council to evaluate the council’s core services and build a practical prioritisation model for the Innovation Fund.
